So I went to NY city today with my bf- to visit his siter and my friend. And I got a bottle of perrier lime to go with my brunch. I love perrier. I don't drink it as often as I used to anymore, but I still love them. I love all the flavors equally and dearly.
And guess what I got as soon as I arrive in this city. A little box that has a piece of "BonChon" chicken inside! This is a Korean brand franchised all the way in NY so I was quite surprised and excited. Apparently there are 10 of BC chicken place in NY. They sell Korean style fried chicken, which are smothered in sweet and spicy sauce. Korean people love to get these kinds of fried chicken and beer. Unfortunately, I'm surrounded by grease+dairy of American food, and I don't necessarily miss any kind of fried chicken. BUT. I won't refuse a FREE little box of my childhood. <3 onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvSVnDWoavPo7zqYeYLhvAGNetscbF1ZEylV6AvNfXX6iPcvVqutSbtXBuDZwbO2Zksl6PNskeAQJOdHxWicPSwttSNKydFIwuM5gkFSpElMr8lvYK_zNWCrP3Jrvj3Qry3k7oaD9QcIg/s1600-h/IMG_8236.JPG">BTW, sorry about terrible quality of these pictures and how they're all vertically rotated. idk what to do!!! but anyways. my brunch was toasted Monte Cristo from tomato cafe- we had it at city hall park, surrounded by pidgeons. I miss Seoul whenever I go to NY. It's like NY but cleaner. Isn't that GREAT?
After walking over the Brooklyn Bridge, I had a tall caffee mocha in NY public bathroom = starbucks
Then I got some carbonated grapefruit juice and a "white soda" flavored japanese candy.
And for dinner, we went to this SUPER COOL restaurant called Yaffa Cafe. I had a chicken dijon with steamed vegetables and brown rice. And a bowl of salad w/ carrot dressing came out. This restaurant was very relaxing, funky, hip place with reasonably priced+portioned food. AND THERE FOODS WERE GOOD. love love love, love.
Picture of my beautiful chicken dijon. I ordered this dish purposely because this is something that I always wanted to cook. Just like how I imagined, this is a good western healthy protein dish that goes good with warm rice. I'm gonna recreate one very soon!!! yay :)
Meeting old friends is probably one of the most joyous things in the whole world. I'm so glad my girlfriends are staying strong in NY. And I can't wait to meet them again when they're even more cooler than now.
So here's a toast to beautiful youth, struggle, and friendship.
Cheers.
xoxo
My best,
